Thailand Model United Nations, A Platform to Learn Diplomacy in Newer Way

Twelve students with three advisers and a Vetter of Reliance Public School, representing Nepal, have returned to their homeland after their successful delegation in Thailand Model United Nations, an academic simulation of United Nations General Assembly that was held on 31st March till 2nd April, 2018 in the capital city of Thailand, Bangkok. The conference, held at Concordian International School, was attended by three hundred delegates of fourteen different countries and thirty five academic institutions from the different parts of the world. It’s been  a newer practice and an approach to our delegates to learn and deal several of the skills on prominent global issues with the extensive and impromptus module practice on negotiation, diplomacy and dispute resolve in a structured pattern. The director of the conference who had been one of the pioneers in bringing up international practice of Model United Nations in Thailand since fifteen years, Mr. John Wood, organizing a meeting with the Vetter and faculty advisers of the conference, declared the conclusion of conference with a consent of organizing its sixth edition in 2019 in the same venue.

Dr. Thitinan Pongsudhirak, Director of the Institute of Security and International Studies (ISIS) and Associate Professor of International Political Economy at the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok had delivered his key notes during the opening session of  conference. The conference had begun with the gavel presentation to the committee chairs by Dr. Thitinan.

A One Day’s Training on Practice of Model United Nations

Reliance Public School Model United Nations ( RPMUN) organized a one day’s training session to its students from grade VIII and IX about the different practices of Model United Nations in world. Through the training, students come up to know about detailed rules of procedure and code of conduct those are to be followed while attending world class MUN conferences.

RPMUN delegates’ Weightful Presence in IIMUN Forum

RPMUN delegates participated in Indian International Model United Nations ( IIMUN-V) – 2018 Nepal Chapter conference that was held in Kathmandu from 11-13 May, 2018. On three days’ of conference, altogether 1400 students from Nepal and India learned and practiced the skills related to diplomacy, negotiation, tactic and peaceful way of resolving disputes.

In the conference, Master Abhiyan Acharya and Master Abiral Jha ,Both the 10th graded students of Reliance Public School, respectively from Lok Shabha and SOCHUM committees were awarded with bronze medal-High Commendation.On the same, Master Avision Dhungana, a eighth graded student, had received special verbal mention on making active participation in World Bank Committee.
